Paul and Barnabas proclaim the reality of the fulfillment of the law and the prophets in Jesus Christ. They continue to travel around instructing the faithful and writing letters instructing the faithful. Remember the teachings always came before the writings. The teachings and the writings never contradict.
In the Gospel today we are called to love the Lord, which means to follow and keep His word. We can’t just know the Lord, we must obey and follow Him as well. Jesus promises us the Spirit, the Advocate, to guide us and protect us. Open your heart to the Holy Spirit and you will receive that Peace that only Christ can give.
This weekend, I celebrate 11 years a priest! Continue to pray for me.
Lastly, we congratulate our two new priests for the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois-now Fr. Ryan Kehoe and Fr. Charlie Delano! They are young!!! Keep them in your prayers as they begin their new life as priests. Continue also to pray for more priests! Encourage young men in our parish and in your families to consider priesthood. They are in our very midst.
