Accessibility
Statement
Accessible parking, our accessible entrance, the hearing loop, and low-gluten hosts, plus our commitment to a website everyone can use.
Everyone is welcome at St. Francis Solanus. Here's what to know to make your visit to the church and Parish Hall comfortable.
Accessible parking and entrance
- Accessible parking is in the north lot, entered from Elm Street, in the section nearest the drive-through drop-off.
- The drive-through drop-off is also the accessible entrance for the church and the Parish Hall.
Accessible seating
Accessible seating is available at the front of the church, just inside the north doors in the northeast corner, by the organ. There's room for wheelchairs, walkers, and anyone who needs a little extra space.
Low-gluten hosts
If you need a low-gluten host at Communion, please come to the priest's Communion line and ask him.
Hearing loop in the church
St. Francis Solanus Church has a hearing loop for parishioners and visitors who use hearing aids.
- Have a telecoil (T-coil) hearing aid or cochlear implant? Switch it to the T-coil (or "T") setting to hear the Mass clearly through your device.
- Not sure if yours has a T-coil? Ask your hearing professional. Some devices need the T-coil turned on ahead of time.
- No T-coil? You can check out a receiver to use with the loop. Ask an usher for help.

Questions before you visit?
If you have other questions about visiting the church, the Parish Center, or the school, such as getting around the building, please call the Parish Office at (217) 222-2898 and we'll help you plan your visit.
Using this website
Last updated October 2026
St. Francis Solanus Parish and School want everyone to be able to use this website, including people with disabilities and people using assistive technology.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines help make websites easier to use for people who are blind or have low vision, are deaf or hard of hearing, or have mobility, speech, or cognitive disabilities.
What we've done
- Clear page structure with headings, so the site works well with screen readers.
- Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images.
- Text and colors chosen with enough contrast to be easy to read.
- Menus, links, buttons, and forms that can be used with a keyboard, with visible focus outlines.
- Pages that adjust to phones, tablets, and browser zoom.
- Form fields with labels and clear required-field markings.
- Animations that respect your device's reduced-motion setting.
Known limitations
We're always working to improve, and a few areas may not be fully accessible yet:
- Some older documents, such as bulletin PDFs and archived forms, may not be fully accessible to screen readers.
- Some content comes from outside services, such as embedded videos, calendars, maps, online giving, and FORMED, which we don't control.
- Some older photos may still be missing descriptions.
If you need any of this information in another format, we're happy to help.
Need help or found a problem?
If something on this site is hard to use, or you need information in a different format (such as large print or read over the phone), please let us know. Tell us the page and what you were trying to do, and we'll do our best to respond within a few business days.
