From Father Ken – Quincy Deanery Council of Catholic Women
The Quincy Deanery Council of Catholic Women (QDCCW) is for all women in the parishes of Quincy, Pittsfield, Winchester, Camp Point, Mt. Sterling, Mendon, Fowler and Liberty. By the grace of God, I am the current Spiritual Director of the QDCCW. It was handed to me by Fr. Aaron Kuhn, Pastor of Holy Family in Mt. Sterling. He finished his tenure last August. God bless him for his dedication.
QDCCW gathers three times a year – in spring, summer and fall – to educate, equip and empower women in our communities and parishes. This is done using the National Council of Catholic Women tenets of spirituality, leadership and service.
Throughout the year, the QDCCW promotes and encourages women’s participation in parish and community life, pro-life activities, and Catholic education by asking Our Lady of Good Council, as Patroness, for spiritual guidance.
At the gatherings of the QDCCW there is celebration of Mass, Adoration, and the Rosary. This is followed by a meal and an informative agenda for the promotion of the Catholic faith for women. This includes presentations from speakers on different topics, and information on Catholic events going on in our communities. For more information on the National Council of Catholic Women, please visit nccw.org.
