From Our Pastor: A Christmas Message of Gratitude and Hope

As we gather in the joy of this Christmas season, let us pause to marvel at the profound mystery of the Incarnation. The prophets of old foretold it, and now we celebrate the fulfillment: God Himself has come among us as a tiny babe in Bethlehem. Isaiah’s words echo in our hearts, promising Emmanuel, “God with us.” In the quiet of the stable, amidst the humble surroundings, the King of Kings enters our world not with fanfare, but with the gentle cry of a newborn. This Christmas, may we open our hearts anew to receive Him, allowing His light to dispel any darkness we carry. Just as Mary and Joseph trusted in God’s plan, let us embrace the wonder of this holy night, knowing that Jesus’ birth brings hope, peace, and salvation to all.

I must share how deeply grateful I am to be here with you this Christmas, especially after the health challenges I faced last year. Your prayers and support carried me through recovery, and now, to be home for Christmas this year, I feel the warmth of our parish family more than ever. It is good to be back in my favorite Christmas suits this year as well. We’ve shared so much this Advent-beautiful liturgies, community gatherings, and acts of charity that reflect the giving spirit of Christ. It’s moments like these that remind me why I love this time of year; it’s not just about the festivities, but about drawing closer to one another and to our Lord. Thank you for making St. Francis Solanus a beacon of faith in Quincy.

As we exchange gifts and feast with loved ones, let us remember to carry the true gift of Christmas into the new year-the love of Christ that transforms lives. May the blessings of the Holy Family abound in your homes and families, and may you find joy in serving others as Jesus serves us. From my heart to yours, Merry Christmas! Let us continue to pray for one another and see each other in the Eucharist.
