From Father Scott: A Season of Renewal and Reflection

With the arrival of April, we look forward to many parish events. The warm weather makes us eager to be outside. As the grass turns green, and the trees get their leaves, we have a sense of renewal all around us. I hope that our Lenten observances have us ready for an inward renewal as well. Our self-denial has influenced our habits. Through our prayer, fasting, and almsgiving, we have united ourselves with Christ and our neighbor. I pray this will bear much good fruit in our renewed commitment to keeping our obligation of Mass on Sundays and Holy Days, of seeking Reconciliation frequently, and of working together to build our parish and faith community.

As we celebrate the 1700th birthday of the Nicene Creed, let us think about the words we are reciting each week at Mass. Let us renew our conviction of “I believe” and let us continue our journey in the faith that has been handed down to us. We have much to be thankful for at St. Francis Solanus – we also have a responsibility to live our faith in a way that passes it down to the next generation. May Almighty God bless us as we persevere in our Lenten journey.

In Christ,
Fr. Bruce Scott
